Franklin County Local Government

Franklin County is governed through a dual structure of a County Executive and County Commission. Incorporated towns within the county are governed by a mayor and council arrangement. Sewanee, an un-incorporated but major demographic area of the county, is directly chartered by the State of Tennessee and governed by a Board of Trustees.
